What does a piece of furniture really need? For architect and designer Jakub Kolarovič, the answer often begins with a simple function, a durable material and a clever connection. With inox système, he creates furniture and objects from stainless steel, reducing each design to its essential elements. Carefully developed connections hold the pieces together, avoiding screws and welds wherever possible. Made to order and finished by hand, the designs combine a clear aesthetic with room for individual adjustments.
Blickfang sat down with Jakub to talk about his journey from architecture to product design, the details that make a design work and why he wants his furniture to last for decades.
